The Perception of quality and the performance in primary health Care of central Alentejo – Portugal

Quality and performance are current issues a strategic priority for the Portuguese National Health Service. Currently, there is lack of studies in primary health care (PHC) that assess relationship between quality level Primary Care Teams. In Portugal, those teams monitored through Global Performance Index (GPI), which demonstrates, score, procedures results obtained by electronic records metrics defined each indicator. This paper aims to analyze perception professionals (service culture; leadership; service strategy; infrastructure external resources; information knowledge; processes; management; human resource planning skills development, commitment; conditions, satisfaction, performance, recognition; results) different PHC Central Alentejo—Portugal, given (care performance; professional training; organizational quality; services). Self-Perception Questionnaire (SPQQ4PHC) was used as an assessment tool. The population comprises 324 (Family Doctors, Nurses, Medical Secretaries) distributed over 34 When analyzing global correlation variables SPQQ4PHC questionnaire with GPI, it´s possible confirm twenty-one out twenty-five correlates GPI. Thus, this study allowed us conclude that, perceive increases, GPI also demonstrating dimensions closely related.
